Hi, it’s Maria! I created these toys during my maternity leave while expecting my daughter Alice. I started thinking about the kind of toys I wanted for her, and I wanted something not just to play with but also to teach her about emotions, the difference between good and bad behavior, and to give me some free time. That’s when I decided to use animal characters to show kids everyday situations happening with humans to help them develop empathy.
I created stories around these characters and recorded them. When my friends heard them, they loved the idea and wanted toys like that for their boys and girls, too. The initial brand name was Alice Tales, but because it was often confused with Alice in Wonderland, I renamed it Narratoys.
This is how we created educational online content, approved by a child psychologist, to encourage independent play.
We strive to reduce children's screen time, so we decided to publish all our stories and songs on streaming services. You could give your child the mini-book and play the songs on any smart speaker. Simply say, 'Play the album Stories about little African animals by Narratoys’
